Colonel RAYMOND A. DE JESUS

Col Raymond A. de Jesus is the Commander, 195th Wing, Beale Air Force Base, California. He is responsible for leading a highly diverse multi-mission wing ensuring disparate capabilities and operational impacts within Cyberspace, Intelligence, Space and Combat Communications are globally executable.

Col de Jesus received his commission from the Academy of Military Science at McGhee-Tyson Air National Guard Base, Tennessee, in April 1999. His career in the officer corps began as a Project Engineer, designing copper and fiber network systems for the Engineering Installation Squadron, located in Ohio, Massachusetts, and California. He led expeditionary engineering installation forces, establishing communication systems across Qatar, Iraq, and Afghanistan bases. Prior to his current position, Col de Jesus served as the Commander of the 195th Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance Group, Beale AFB, CA.

Col de Jesus was a Research Engineer at the Air Force Research Laboratory at Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts, working on next- generation antenna arrays and wireless systems. He was the Network Systems Flight Commander and Chief of Maintenance for the Combat Communication Squadron, Van Nuys, Calif. He is a graduate of the advanced Cyber Warfare Training at Hurlburt Field, Fla., and the first Cyberspace Operations Squadron commander to lead the initial Cyber Protection Team in the Air National Guard. Col de Jesus was a research scientist in his civilian capacity, developing disruptive technologies, such as metamaterial, low-temperature plasma, advanced communication, and energy generation for air and space domain applications.
