195th Wing chaplain commissions to serve fellow Airmen
U.S. Air Force Chaplain (Lt. Col.) David Sarmiento, left, with the 163rd Attack Wing, California Air National Guard, administers the Oath of Office to Master Sgt. Rene Martin III, to commission him as a new 195th Wing Staff chaplain, on October 2, 2021, at Sepulveda Air National Guard Station, Van Nuys, California. Martin started his path to chaplaincy over nine years ago when encouraged by Sarmiento to consider becoming a military chaplain. Martin was the 195th Wing’s superintendent of religious affairs prior to his promotion.
