BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- July 28-30, 2026 the Electromagnetic Warfare Operators Course Lite was held at Beale Air Force Base, California.
The course is designed to give personnel unfamiliar with electromagnetic spectrum operations a primer on what those operations look like and how that day to day mission is accomplished.
Taught by a cadre from the 216th Electromagnetic Warfare Squadron, the class included enlisted and officers from both the Active Duty Air Force and Air National Guard across a wide variety of units and career fields.
The course was composed of a classroom portion focused on theory and operations in the EMSO arena, while the hands on portion was largely focused on the operation of the Honey Badger system, which is composed of an antenna and modem. The system is used to monitor downlink of communications and provide overwatch of critical signals in the event of electromagnetic interference.
